A postcard from Dave Zack from Mexico where he lived at the time. Sent in 1984. On the reverse Zack writes- " Michael- This is too vital to my Correspondence History to plan out or prefabricate, let alone prevaricate in any way. I have refused to give the Tapia family the cash Christmas gift they demand. They lowered and I still refused. Three times I went to my parents with the Tapias. These lovable and living ancestors of mine smiled lovably and pointed at me. Cesario refused to take Genovera's last month's pay, holding out for the Christmas present. I said my festival as a ULC minister is not Christmas, but April 1st. He said he never heard of it. I told him to watch out for it, it'd be better than bullfighting. This isn't bad, sometimes people get killed."
Long overdue exhibition of his work and life at New Gallery in Calgary, Canada. A website devoted to him HERE.
There appears to be a broken link for some reason - try pasting this in your fuse box - www.ccca.ca/artists/David_Zack
Film on YouTube featuring Zack singing and playing HERE.

Darlene sent back this postcard for my "Transmute & Return" project in 1997. She has signed it "Shmuel". All the way from Woodland Hills, CA. This is a postcard of Archie when he was 2 sitting in front of a playhouse that Hazel made. Nice Boris Karloff stamps on the other side.
Michael was an erratic mail artist but always worth the wait. His sublime and witty "11th Hour Pagescapes" were wonderful. This is a postcard sent to Hazel and I when we lived in Lambeth Walk in London .
"Poste Restante" was an exhibition Michael curated in 1980 at the Liverpool Academy - the biggest mail art exhibition in the U.K. to date.

Billy sent this in 2002. Hand drawn and collaged. On the reverse Billy says- "Good to hear from you! My banjo playing is a bit rusty but have been trying to cum up with somethin' musical for either of your two tape projects. I really enjoyed the re-mixed dawg pamphlet and keep it by the terlit for perusing."
