INTRODUCTION

This is the first entry for my new blog about my favourite mail art that I have saved over the years ( since 1980 ) but some is even older - I exchanged mail that could be called art even though we knew nothing about the international mail art network at the time. One reason for doing this was to show people who might be interested the wonderful envelopes, postcards, objects, books, catalogues, collages, drawings etc. that I have been sent over the years and I've had nowhere to show them until now! So three cheers for blogs and blogger!

Great idea, Michael... looking through Ruuds file for envelopes to send him was a treat. I'm sure that you'll rediscover some real treasures. Even though I've visited you a number of times we've never explored your archives. I look forward to seeing more.

I"ve not explored them either! It's nice to find things again that I'd comepletely forgotten about. Some of the boxes have been sealed up since the 80's! Each one is like a time capsule - so many names that are no longer with us for one reason or another. In a way it's quite sad but hopefully some pleasure in sharing these golden oldies. The ones just blogged are quite recent but older things will surface I'm sure very soon. I just found two of Ruud's envelopes from the mid 90's so he''ll be pleased!

Dear oh dear, does this now mean (having only just discovered this mailart blog), that I have to dig out my own dusty archive and catapult it into the ether?!

Hi Part B. Nice to see you here! I assume you are the same Part B who famously got delivered to our flat in Lambeth Walk many years ago? Look forward to seeing your mail art treasures ( and sideburns!).
